I live in the UK and have been a techie in the online business for twenty plus years working for companies ranging from startups through to Microsoft working mainly on high traffic websites in a variety of positions from developer to CTO / founder and in different areas from development, to e-commerce to management.

The first part of my life was as a professional classical guitarist having studied at Trinity College of Music in London in the 90s.

I work at Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com on the VIP division where I lead the global Enterprise Team helping notable businesses such as Facebook, News Corp and Microsoft make the best of the web’s most used CMS on the VIP platform.

My main thing is dinghy sailing and I’m also an RYA instructor where I teach voluntarily at my local sailing club. I’m also the IT guy looking after the club’s web site.

I generally like being outside, nature, history, making things, photography, joining the dots between things and continually learning. I don’t develop for a living any more but still love building things in code . I remain both a musician and techie at heart.
